Amazing new technique using glossy photo paper and oxide inks

https://youtu.be/eX7KJtde0o8 ( click on the link to watch video tutorial)

I don't think I stressed enough in the video that this technique only works on glossy photo paper and it is not the expected or usual outcome that you get with oxide inks on regular card stock. I just have a lot of photo paper that we never use and yesterday while still confined to my recliner and wheelchair, I decided to look for different ways to use all that photo paper and this video is just one cool thing I discovered. I made a few other discoveries that I will be share soon. Oh also, after I finished the video I played a little more and this is the outcome of that. I am in love with this piece and in person it is so shinny and cool looking.

This first pic is what it looked like after I was done doing the background and stamping, the second pic is what appears after you wipe it off with a dry rag. I am just in love with this technique. Hope y'all enjoy and until next time, hugs and loves, from my craft recliner, to yours.

  1. They are both awesome! Do you think you could just leave it and not wipe off? Or in that case just use regular cardstock.

    1. I bet if you spray it with some kind of fixatives then the chalky layer would stay on. I will give it a try and then let you know.

  2. I found you in Youtube and subscribed to you there and here. I have lots of photo paper and will try this. TFS this technique, looks cool! Glad you can craft and don't worry about using one hand to video. If crafting helps you while you recouperate, keep it up!
